“I find it liberating to pick up a brush or pen and to investigate with curious eyes as the hands follow the imaginations of the heart. I am inspired by people, movements, the landscape, the things uttered, and the expressions we make.”

Marcia Honychurch.jpg

Marica Honychurch

“My primary focus in photography is the area of conceptual portraiture and cultural documentary.  When it comes to conceptual portraiture, my inspirations and work are derived from my interactions with personalities, culture and nature which I transform into my surreal imagery.”

“Art is in nature, and nature is art.”

“In my films and photographs, I like to explore ‘connection’. Often aiming to connect the dots between seemingly disparate subjects - connection to self, connection to nature, connection to the divine, and connection through time.”

“My migratory journey between the UK and Dominica at various stages of life informs concepts of roots, connection and wellbeing. I have a fascination with plants, textiles and fragments. Unravelling historical threads appeals to my investigative nature.

My processes are an entangled mix of site exploration, drawing, painting, installation, textiles, natural dyes and reflective writing.”
